The nature trail near the beach is a total of 1.8 km long and along it there is a birdwatching tower, a swimming beach, and 16 information boards about various natural attractions. Along the trail, near the swimming beach, there is a campfire site.

A new art route consisting of seven environmental art installations has been completed in the Rokua Geopark area during 2024. The art route's works are located throughout the Rokua Geopark area, in Muhos, Vaala, and Utajärvi. The Discovery of Art collection comprises seven works inspired by Rokua Geopark's three main themes: geological heritage, tar, and legends. 

The Musu route in Piehinki is part of the Kusti cycling and hiking trail network.

The Musu route starts from the end of Ylipääntie in Piehinki at Härkölanssintie. The total length of the route is 16.6 km. Along the route are the remnants of the Russian prison camp, the Headquarters. It is located along Laivalantie, and the site is about 200 m from Laivalantie. The loop length is 8.2 km.

The summer street gallery organized by the Wanhan Raahe residents' association and Mediakeskus Lybecker is spreading again on the streets of Wanhan Raahe.

In the southern part of Rokua National Park, in the middle of an old pine forest, there is a route suitable for wheelchair users and those with strollers.

On the route circling the Rokua esker area, you can hike in Rokua National Park, enjoy the rural landscapes, and learn about the stories of local rune singers and folk healers.

Europe's oldest bedrock, tens of kilometers of sandy beaches and maritime atmospheres on Finland's largest inland waters.

The 25 km mountain biking route of Hummastinvaara is mostly easy, but in some places also very challenging. On this multi-use route, you can experience diverse forest and mire landscapes, and along the way, you can detour to admire the lakes of Hummastinvaara.

The Ruustinna route is 2 kilometers long and can be walked or cycled. There are guide boards along the route with stories about Ii's history, nature and life in Finnish, as well as a short summary in English.

Syölätti route

Length 10,4 km + Parhalahti centre 5,3 km, route colour-coded blue

On the Peurapolku trail, you get to explore the settlement of Manamansalo dating back to the Stone Age. Along the trail, there is, among other things, a reindeer hunting village and a memorial church at the end point.

The Rajaniemi route

Length 19,9 km, colour-coded blue

Traditional landscape by the roaring rapid. The Liimanninkoski nature trail leads from bright hillside meadows through dense spruce forests and lush groves to the foaming Liimanninkoski rapids. The route is accessible up to the lean-to shelter.

Kempeleen kunta haki 2019 Art Linnakallio goes Baana -teemalla taiteilijoita suunnittelemaan ja tekemään paikkasidonnaisia teoksia kahdeksan alikulkusillan yhteyteen. Alikulkusillat sijaitsevat Kempeleen vilkkaimman pyöräily- ja kävelyreitti Baanan varrella.

In 2019, the municipality of Kempele initiated an art project with the theme "Art Linnakallio goes Baana," inviting artists to design and create site-specific artworks for eight underpass bridges. These underpass bridges are located along Baana, Kempele's busiest cycling and walking route.

The Pitkänkari area does not have a single circular nature trail, but rather a network of several routes. Along the walking paths, you’ll find the Ilolinna birdwatching tower and the Takaranta campfire site, as well as several log benches for resting. The views from Takaranta open out to the open sea, while the scenery from Ilolinna looks out over the archipelago.

Flatland Route is a 320 km long, 5-6 day gravel road ring route along the Baltic Sea coast in North Ostrobothnia.It connects the villages, towns, nature and history sites and services of the south-eastern coast of the Bothnian Sea along low-traffic side roads, offering an interesting and varied introduction to the area's nature and history. The route is easily accessible by public transport and the flatness of Ostrobothnia makes it suitable for first-timers.

The Terva Trail is a versatile hiking route between Oulu's Sankivaara and Rokua National Park. Along the way, there are swamps, forests, fields, and bodies of water.

The Hummastinvaara routes offer mountain bikers experiences in a diverse forest landscape. Along the 10 km route, you will encounter various terrains - rolling paths, roots, forest roads, boardwalks, and sandy ground. The terrain is easy to ride, and the route is also suitable for less experienced mountain bikers.

Experience stunning rural and river landscapes along the Pearl Necklace of Villages winding along the Siikajoki riverbank. You cycle from village to village on gravel and paved roads and get to admire the flowing Siikajoki river at many points on this easy-to-ride route.

The Pookinpolku leads through the beautiful Pitkäjärvi to the scenery of the old fire watchmen at Pookivaara, the heart of the national park. Here you can see rolling pine forest terrain, silvery lichens, and bright kettle ponds.

The ancient trail runs along the village streets of Saloinen from an Iron Age cemetery through medieval original farms all the way to the parsonage and the gate of the ironworks.

The outdoor routes of Hummastinvaara offer experiences in a diverse forest landscape. Along the 15 km route, you will encounter various terrains – rolling trails, roots, forest roads, boardwalks, and sandy bottoms. The route is also suitable for less experienced mountain bikers.

Kultaranta route

On this route, you will experience art made by locals along stunning rural and river landscapes. The 12 km long Art Route was created by local villagers.

Short and easy mountain biking route well-suited for beginners. The route circles in the Rantakylä recreational area and it is easy to exit it at multiple points. Kurran lenkki route suits well for children and youngsters. There is one campfire place along the route.

Experience magnificent and unique river landscapes by cycling along the Pyhäjoki riverbank roads. While cycling, you can enjoy the expansive river views and observe the yearly cycle of river nature from a prime vantage point.

The 5 km route of Hummastinvaara, passing through field and forest landscapes, is also well suited for less experienced mountain bikers and beginners.

By bike to sports events. This route takes you to the Raksila sports area where you find a swimming hall, baseball stadion, Ice hockey hall, and event & sports center Ouluhalli.

From the City center to Nallikari route leads from the heart of the city through relaxing nature to the sandy beaches of Nallikari.  

The canoeing route around Hollihaka is a short canoeing route near the center of Oulu. The route is well suited as a canoeing or SUP boarding for the whole family.  

Wanha Raahe is one of Finland's best-preserved wooden towns from the 19th century, where history comes alive through charming streets and buildings.

A beautiful route in versatile sceneries of Oulu.

The Fantin trail runs through beautiful seaside scenery. It is a relatively short and easy path right on the edge of the town of Raahe. Along the trail, there is a campfire site and a great spot to admire the view towards the magnificent Old Raahe on the opposite shore of the bay.

The Fantin route is an excellent nearby route if you are staying in the center of Raahe and in Old Raahe.

Fantti used to be an island, which has almost connected to the mainland due to land uplift.

Ristivuori route

The Mikonkari hiking area is located in the terrain between the southern and northern branches of the Pattijoki River. The path of Parr (800 m) starts at the southeastern boundary of SF-Caravan Lohenpyrstö and leads to Mansikkakarintie road.

The Saaren route

Bicycle route to Kempele and shopping center Zeppelin.

On the Natura 2000 site of Iso-Kraaseli island off Raahe, there is a nature trail about 2 km long, along which there are 15 information boards telling about the island's birds, plants, and the phenomenon of land uplift in nature.

The island has a campfire site and a shelter. In the summer, sheep graze on the island.

You can reach Iso-Kraaseli in the summer by archipelago cruises or by your own boat.

The Syvyydenkierros route goes through the rolling and varied ridge terrain of Rokuanvaara, among silvery lichens. Along the route, you can see landscapes shaped by the Ice Age and Finland's deepest natural kettle hole, Syvyydenkaivo.

Torikan lenkki route is relatively easy route designed for people learning to mountain bike. The route doesn’t demand great technical skills or excellent fitness level but there are still some challenges along the route.

The multi-use trail starting next to the Manamansalo Port restaurant is suitable for both mountain biking and hiking.

Pikisaari island in Oulu is a well-known place of artisans and artists, which opens up in a completely new way from the waters.
