Liminka

Liminka

Liminka is known especially for its birdlife. Finland’s finest bird waters in Liminka Bay offer unforgettable experiences, especially during the spring and autumn migrations. If you don’t happen to have your own binoculars with you, you can borrow them from the visitor centre. Open year round, the Liminka Bay Visitor Centre offers interesting things to do for the whole family free of charge.

Liminka’s more than 100 kilometres of mountain bike trails provide challenge and fun for cyclists of all ages and skill levels! The easiest track is the Kurra track and the hardest the always demanding Long Swan Route. Rental bikes are available at the Liminka Bay Visitor Centre. Did you know that in 2019, Liminka’s mountain bike trails were among the finalists in the competition for the Finnish Excursion Destination, along with the Ylläs mountain bike trails?

Rantakylä is one of the most diverse areas for recreation and sport in the Oulu region. It boasts a beach with jumping towers, an 18-lane frisbee golf course, beach volleyball courts and great jogging terrain, as well as fitness steps. You can also rent an SUP board at an affordable price from the Rantakylä swimming pit, and in winter, you can take a dip in a hole in the ice. There is a large toboggan run next to the ski stadium. The sea can be explored on a canoe.

Groups should book an adventure in Liisanlinna. The experience is crowned with soot pot coffee and captivating stories. You will find wonderful atmospheric meeting venues in the Liminka Bay Visitor Centre, the Vihiluoto fish restaurant and Pitojen Helmi, a country house with a beautifully traditional milieu.
